Dr. Hilda Oweisy
With over 14 years of improving smiles for children, adolescents and adults, Dr. Oweisy still believes that the most powerful first impression is a beautiful smile that serves as one’s unique signature.
Dr. Oweisy was first inspired in the field of dentistry at the age of 16 when she commenced her first job, answering phones and greeting patients in her mother’s orthodontic practice. Being a second generation orthodontist, she saw firsthand the infectious nature of a beautiful smile and the feeling of confidence and self-esteem, patience obtained after treatment . She began her journey at the University of Virginia with a degree in psychology, with a concentration in the health sciences. Upon graduation, she attended Temple University School of Dentistry to be followed by a general practice residency program at Christiana Care Health Systems in Wilmington, Delaware. Dr. Oweisy wanted to combine her love of the arts and sciences so she pursued orthodontics which allowed her to combine these fields. In 2008, she began her orthodontic residency program at Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida where she researched the efficiency of various orthodontic systems.
To keep up with the latest cutting edge technologies, Dr. Oweisy, is an active member of the American Association of orthodontics, Delaware State Dental Society, Maryland State Dental Society, Northern Virginia Dental Society, and the American Dental Association.
When Dr. Oweisy is not practicing orthodontics, she loves to spend time with her husband and two children trying new recipes, traveling, starting interior design projects, snow tubing or going on nature hikes.
